The Invisible Monster, Chapter 1: Slaves of the Phantom (top left corner one-ninth) (2005)

The Invisible Monster, Chapter 1: Slaves of the Phantom (top left corner one-ninth), video,  18 min. 28 sec.

This is the top left corner one-ninth of the first episode of the 1950’s film serial, “The Invisible Monster”, where an evil villain plots to take over the world using an army of invisible soldiers. Like the central characters in this episode – the centre of the frame is “made invisible” — removed and replaced with the top left corner as part of an inquiry into how narrative is affected when the edge is made centre.
